Outreach from the Inside: Connecting Engineering Graduate Students to their Academic Library

As an MLIS student, it is imperative to find ways to connect our coursework with our employment, which may be outside of the library. This session will discuss how an MLIS student found ways to conduct outreach to the University of Maryland libraries from their graduate assistantship within the Department of Mechanical Engineering and connected graduate-level engineering students to resources they previously had not known existed.

Amber Pierdinock – MLIS Graduate, University of Maryland
Amber Pierdinock is a recent graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park’s MLIS program. While at UMD, Amber was a Research and Teaching Fellow, where she provided information literacy instruction to First-Year students through UMD’s English 101 program.
