Amazon Web Services (a web services hosting company that supports a wide range of websites and web apps nationally) is reporting slowness on some of the web services they host. This includes our Blackboard and Panopto services. Both companies are working with Amazon Web Services to resolve the problem.
Blackboard Inc. will be updating the Blackboard database on August 12, 2021. This process will begin at 2:00am on August 12, and is expected to take approximately 90 minutes to complete. During this time, Blackboard will be unavailable.
The Panopto/Blackboard integration is experiencing an increased error rate with Chrome and Edge browsers. Panopto Inc. is aware of this and working on a resolution. At this time, the workaround is to try using another browser or to go directly to https://towsonu.hosted.panopto.com, selecting Blackboard from the drop down to sign in, then go back to
Some Mac users are currently experiencing a log in issue on Blackboard and other TU services. First, please try updating both your browser and your computer’s operating system. At the bottom of the error message, there should be an option to click on Advanced, then Proceed to… (unsafe) in order to get past the warning.
Blackboard Inc. Engineers will be performing maintenance on the Blackboard App and the Blackboard Instructor App for mobile devices on December 16, 2019 10:30pm – December 17, 2019 3:30am. During this time, the mobile apps will be unavailable, but you will be able to access Blackboard via a computer.
The Akindi service will be unavailable from December 27-30, 2019 for a move to the Google Cloud. During this time, instructors will not be able to access their account, create or edit assessments, or download or upload test sheets.
At approximately 11:35am, the integration which supports Inline Grading of assignments went down. This caused assignment submissions in the grade center to take a long time to load and would not show previews to the instructors while attempting to grade.
