MASON: Mid-Atlantic Seminar On Numbers

MASON is a small, friendly meeting of number-theorists and mathematicians from fields related to number theory. Faculty, researchers, and students—both graduate and undergraduate—are welcome to attend and, if they are so inclined, to contribute talks.

MASON is relatively recent—the first meeting took place on October 29, 2016. Starting with MASON II, the meetings have taken place over a weekend in early spring:

  • MASON II: Towson University, April 7-8, 2018
  • MASON III: James Madison University, February 23-24, 2019
  • MASON IV: Gettysburg College, March 7-8, 2020
  • MASON V: Virtual, March 27-28, 2021
  • MASON VI: Towson University, March 18, 2023
  • MASON VII: University of Maryland, March 29-30, 2025

Thanks to the generous support of the Number Theory Foundation and the NSF, we were able to provide partial travel support to those MASON II-VI participants who lacked institutional or grant funding. We hope to be able to return to that in the future. MASON VII is supported by the Brin Mathematics Research Center at the University of Maryland at College Park. You can find more information about it from the conference website.
