Transfer Students

Have you recently transferred to Towson?

If you have transferred to Towson University, then you will have completed courses that should fulfill Towson’s requirements. For general transfer-related questions, please visit Towson’s transfer website or email them at transfer@towson.edu. For questions specifically about which credits will transfer to Towson, visit here. Below, we answer a few common transfer-related questions.

How many psychology credits can transfer to Towson?

Towson will accept up to 64 credits from a two-year college and up to 90 from a four-year institution (or from a combination of two- and four-year institutions).

Will all of my previous psychology courses transfer to Towson?

It is possible that all your psychology courses will transfer; however, many of our upper-level (i.e., 300 or 400) courses will not be satisfied if the same, or a similar course, was completed at a lower level. Also, you must complete at least 23 psychology credits at Towson to receive a B.S. in psychology.

How do I know if a community college course will fulfill a Towson requirement?

The Articulation System for Maryland Colleges and Universities (ARTSYS) site was designed to make it easier to understand the transferability of community college courses in addition to other transfer related inquiries. Visit the ARTSYS site.

Have you completed a course at another school that you believe should transfer to Towson?

The Transfer Evaluation System (TES) is an interactive tool that will allow you to compare course descriptions and view classes that have been previously evaluated by our academic departments.
