Department Opportunities

Psi Chi/Psychology Club

  • Psi Chi and the Psychology Club function as student organizations that provide information and opportunities to undergraduate psychology students.  If you’d like more hands-on experience as a part of your psychology experience, attend one of their meetings or become an official member!

Study Abroad

  • The Psychology Department offers study abroad opportunities each year.  To find out more, visit the university’s Study Abroad website and search for a psychology-led program.

Research Experience

  • Many of the faculty in the Department of Psychology have active programs of research. Most take on undergraduate and graduate students to help conduct this research. These opportunities range from volunteering, assisting for course credit, and conducting own studies under supervision. Here is a blog about the benefits of undergrad research.
  • Getting research experience is not just another avenue for learning, it is a great experience to gain hands-on skills that build a resume, helps with admittance to graduate programs, and much more. If you’re interested in participating in research, reach out directly to a faculty member. You can find each faculty member’s research interests on the following page. That page will also indicate whether they’re taking on new research students.
Proctoring for a course
  • Many faculty members utilize the services of undergraduate students to help with various elements of teaching their courses. To pursue this opportunity, students are encouraged to reach directly out to the faculty member who they are interested in proctoring for. It is expected that students must have already completed the course.
Psyc Insight Newsletter
  • Under the supervision of faculty members, a team of undergraduate students publish a monthly newsletter for all psychology students. For more information on this newsletter or how to become a member of the team, please look here.
