Between the spring and fall semesters of 2021, the department of psychology changed its curriculum, so students who started at Towson during the spring of 2021 or earlier need to complete the requirements of the Old Curriculum. Those who started in the fall of 2021 or later will need to complete the New Curriculum requirements which can be seen below.
For students who enrolled at Towson during the fall of 2021 or after, these are the graduation and major requirements:
Graduation Requirements
- 120 total credits
- 2.00 cumulative GPA
- 32 upper-level credits
- 14 University Core Courses (minimum 43 credits)
- Complete ENGL 102 (or equivalent) with at least 2.00
- Final 30 credits completed at TU
Psychology Major requirements
- 44 major credits
- Receive a C or higher in all courses
- 11 credits in Core Courses
- PSYC101
- PSYC212 or PSYC213
- PSYC314 or PSYC313
- 12 credits in four Foundation Courses
- PSYC203
- PSYC225
- PSYC261
- PSYC285
- 3 credits in Sociocultural Awareness Course (432, 441, or 447)
- 18 PSYC elective credits (at least 15 @ 300-level or above)
- 11 credits in Core Courses
- Minimum of 23 credits taken at Towson
