There are many opportunities to procure funding at the university; however, they can often be hard to find or you may have missed the deadline once you know that the opportunity exists. Although not exhaustive, below is a list that includes a few of them:
Department Scholarships
- Most information related to scholarships that students receive at the university can be found through the Financial Aid office. Here is a link for the application process through their office.
- The Department of Psychology does offer a few scholarships separate from the Financial Aid office. More information on the scholarships and their qualifying criteria can be found here.
CLA summer research grantÂ
- This research grant is designed to provide undergraduate students with an opportunity to propose and pursue a project of their own. More information can be found here.
CLA Undergraduate Research AwardÂ
- The CLA committee will make awards of up to $500 to individual students in support of a research or creative project. More information can be found here.
TU URCI Award
- Undergraduate students who are declared as a major in the CLA can apply for awards up to $1000 to support their research projects. More information can be found here.
URCI Summer Research Grant
- Towson Inquiry Grants for Undergraduate Research in the Summer (TIGURS) is open to students in any major who have completed their first year at TU. The program, which runs through the first half of the summer, provides summer housing, meals, and pays a $1,500 stipend to each participant. More information can be found here.
Research Impact Award
- Undergraduate students at TU who are enrolled in a degree-seeking program full-time are eligible to apply for these $1000 award. More information can be found here.
Travel grants
- Students can be awarded an amount up to $500 to attend a professional meeting or conference where the student will present the results of their work. More information can be found here.
