MarylandView was formerly overseen by Dr. Jay Morgan, Professor Emeritus at Towson University. In 2021, the program transitioned to the leadership of Dr. Carter Wang.

Dr. Carter Wang
Dr. Carter Wang, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography and Environmental Planning at Towson University, holds the position of Principal Investigator (PI) and Director of MarylandView. Dr. Wang earned his Ph.D. in Geography from Arizona State University in 2018.
Dr. Wang’s research focuses on urban climate and environment, urban and terrestrial ecosystems, land-cover/land-use change, and agricultural and natural resources, leveraging advanced geospatial technologies. Since 2013, Dr. Wang has published 30 articles in refereed journals and secured research grants from USGS and NASA to fund his active research agenda. He also serves as the editorial board member of Remote Sensing, Atmosphere, and Urban Climate.
Shilah Bremond
Shilah Bremond, an undergraduate student at Towson University, is pursuing a major in Geography & Environmental Planning along with a minor in Geographic Information Sciences (GIS). She currently serves as the President of the Towson University Chapter of YouthMappers, a global organization dedicated to leveraging open-source geospatial technologies.
Shilah aims to deepen her knowledge in remote sensing, GIS, and computer science throughout her academic journey.
