MarylandView was formerly overseen by Dr. John M. Morgan III, Professor Emeritus at Towson University. In 2021, the program transitioned to the leadership of Dr. Carter Wang.

Our Team

Dr. Carter Wang

Dr. Carter Wang, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography and Environmental Planning at Towson University, holds the position of Principal Investigator (PI) and Director of MarylandView. Dr. Wang earned his Ph.D. in Geography from Arizona State University in 2018.

 

Dr. Wang’s research focuses on urban climate and environment, urban and terrestrial ecosystems, land-cover/land-use change, and agricultural and natural resources, leveraging advanced geospatial technologies. Since 2013, Dr. Wang has published 30 articles in refereed journals and secured research grants from USGS and NASA to fund his active research agenda. He also serves as the editorial board member of Remote SensingAtmosphere, and Urban Climate.

Maya Clark

Maya Clark is an un undergraduate research assistant at Towson University pursuing a B.S. in Geography and Environmental Planning with a minor in Geographic Information Sciences. Her topics of interest include climate change, ecology, weather hazards, and community impact.

She plans to pursue further environmental research in the future in hopes of contributing to sustainable development within the U.S.

Ha Nguyen Xuan  

Ha is a former graduate assistant from Towson University. She graduated in 2023 with an M.S. in Computer Science and Geography and Environmental Planning. Previously she received a bachelor’s degree in Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Law from the National Economics University in Vietnam in 2018.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bailey Bosley

Bailey is a former undergraduate assistant from Towson University. She graduated in 2021 with a B.S. in Environmental Science and a Geographic Information Science minor. Previously, she received her A.S. in Computer Science from the Community College of Baltimore County in 2019.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Shilah Bremond

Shilah Bremond, an undergraduate student at Towson University, is pursuing a major in Geography & Environmental Planning along with a minor in Geographic Information Sciences (GIS). She currently serves as the President of the Towson University Chapter of YouthMappers, a global organization dedicated to leveraging open-source geospatial technologies.

 

Shilah aims to deepen her knowledge in remote sensing, GIS, and computer science throughout her academic journey.
