The Grub Street High School Writing Contest is an exciting opportunity for high school students to see their work published, and for us to celebrate young writers in our community!
Our contest is open to prose and poetry. The winner(s) will be published in that year’s edition Grub Street, which releases in May, and invited to read their winning work at the annual Grub Street launch party. They will also receive a copy of the journal and a monetary award of $100.
This contest is open to:
- Current Maryland high school students
- poetry (up to five poems per author)
- prose (one piece, up to 6,000 words per author)
(Students may also submit to the journal proper, regardless of submitting to the contest.)
To enter, please email submissions to grubstreethscontest@gmail.com For the subject line, please put: “High School Contest Submission.”
