The winner(s) will receive $100, be published in the next edition of Grub Street.

 

NOW, THE DETAILS…

Our contest is open to fiction and poetry. The winner(s) will receive a monetary award of $100 and be published in our 2022 Grub Street edition, which releases in May. The winner(s) will also receive a copy of the journal. If more than one winner is selected, each winner will still receive $100.

A student may submit up to five poems and one story. Stories should not exceed 6,000 words. (Students may also submit to the journal proper, regardless of submitting to the contest. 

An accomplished author will judge the contest. Last year’s judge was Jung Yun, author of the critically acclaimed novel Shelter. 

The contest submission window will close December 15.

Please include the following as a title page to the submission: your name, your high school, your address, a telephone number, and an e-mail address. Remove any identifiable information from the submission proper.
