OTS is aware of Webex meeting performance issues since approximately the middle of last week. These performance issues appear to only affect individuals on campus, with symptoms that include video freezing or audio cutting out for brief periods of time during meetings.
OTS is not aware of these issues affecting remote (off-campus) users nor Zoom or Blackboard Collaborate sessions.
Engineers have been troubleshooting the issue, are working with the Webex vendor (Cisco) to identify the cause of the issues, and are reaching out to other schools and our Internet service provider to understand the scope of the problem.
We will post follow-up messages as we learn more about the issue. If you encounter significant issues with Webex sessions, you may wish to temporarily use Zoom to conduct meetings while we resolve the problem.
