Brief History of Towson

Towson, Maryland is a small unincorporated town North of the city of Baltimore. Towson is named after  “Ezekiel Towson” who was one of the first settlers in the area in 1750. Following its induction, as a city, Towson began to grow with the addition of two colleges, Goucher College and Towson University which was originally named Maryland State Normal School.
