Venue: The Gershman Y – Gershman Gallery, 401 S. Broad Street, First Floor, Philadelphia, PA

Amanda Burnham’s installation, “In Situ,” is the last exhibition to be presented by the Gershman Y Gallery (now the Gershman Philadelphia Film Festival) at its historic building on South Broad Street. Burnham makes drawings and large, site specific installations with drawings.  For her Gershman Y exhibition, she is concentrating on the Gershman building and Broad Street as her subject for her large installation. Completed in 1928, the building was designed by architects Frank E. Hahn and S. Brian Baylinson, and considered at the time to be the largest Jewish institutional building of its kind in the country.  This will be the final exhibition in this historic venue, which has hosted work by Andy Warhol and Christo in the past. The exhibition will run from September 6 – November 16, 2018.

Artist reception on Thursday, September 27, 6 PM — 8 PM. Gallery Hours are M—S, 10 AM to 5 PM.  The exhibition was curated by J. Susan Isaacs.
