Mark Israelit (1928-2015) was a student of Nathan Rosen who wrote a series of articles exploring the relationship between Space-Time-Matter theory (which he referred to as Induced-Matter Theory or IMT) and an alternative unified theory of gravitation and electromagnetism known as Weyl-Dirac theory. His colleague Netsivi Ben-Amots has posted a brief scientific obituary here.
