Today in TU History: 1944 Tuition is Free!

On January 23rd, 1944, Principal Tall and the faculty of Towson State Teacher’s College agreed that the tuition fee would be dropped due to incredibly low enrollments for the Fall semester, 230 females and only 6 males. MSNS and many other institutions faced low enrollments during WWII because many at-age men and women enlisted or were drafted.
