Faculty entrepreneur stresses importance of protecting intellectual property

Entrepreneurship Unplugged continued its fourth week of chats with TU faculty entrepreneur Ziying Tang, an Assistant Professor from the Computer Science Department at Towson University.

Tang is the principal inspector on a $40,000 grant to build a mobile application for helping improve the livelihood of stroke survivors. Baltimore’s first food incubator offers small businesses a recipe for successful scaling

If you want to start your own food-based business in Baltimore, it’s fairly easy to do. The city allows certain bakers and chefs to get licenses to sell products made in their own home kitchens.

It’s scaling up your operation to meet a growing demand that’s the tricky part.

The College of Business and Economics’ weekly entrepreneurship speakers series returns this spring with a new name: Entrepreneurship Unplugged. The series started off with a bang on Tuesday, hosting not one, but two speakers; Josh Smith of TransitioningU and David Robson of SpiralMath.

Towson U student entreprenuer talks beer and business

While Friday’s Entrepreneur Fireside Chat got off to a five-minute late start last week, launching late is not always a bad thing when  it comes to releasing your initial product, said student entrepreneur Bobby Gattuso.

“You have to understand and know when you’re ready to [take] those big steps. … [You have to] really understand when it’s ready to properly launch,” he explained to the group of students and faculty members gathered for the weekly chat presented by the Minor in Entrepreneurship and Student Launch Pad.
