Research Interests:

While I am a lecturer focused on teaching, I am interested in bringing relevant business applications to my students by staying current with the latest business and financial trends, through my: involvement in the Financial Executives Institute; continued education to maintain my CPA; role as an adviser to a start-up business; and involvement on various boards [Shippensburg University, College of Business; multiple companies and charities].

What is something few people know about you that might be surprising to some?

At the end of my business career, I was the president of one of the fastest growing companies in the US: an ‘Inc. 5000 company’ for over five consecutive years.

How do you spend your free time?

I enjoy spending time with my wife, traveling, and seeing our five adult children, their spouses, and our eight grandchildren.

What is your favorite TV show?

We don’t spend much time watching TV shows; instead, I enjoy watching new and old movies with my grandkids. If you pay attention, there are usually good messages for adults as well as children.

What is your favorite memory from your undergraduate days?

Being married to my wife during our senior year. We worked at the dining hall, had jobs lined up following graduation, and lived just off campus – great times.

If you could give your students one piece of advice from your life experiences, what would it be?

Be kind to everyone, lend a hand whenever possible, work at something you are passionate about, and have integrity in all you do.
