Seth Gitter, Ph.D.
Professor, Department of Economics

Gitter is a true mentor to students. He has worked hard to engaged students, not just in the classroom, but also by providing meaningful learning experiences outside of the classroom. Such learning experiences have come in the form of independent studies, allowing students, like Lauren Cahalan, to gain in-depth knowledge on issues important to them. Impressively, Gitter’s work with students has led to conference presentations and even journal publications. In the classroom, Gitter uses innovative techniques, such as hybrid courses, group debates and discussions, and country analysis reports to further students’ learning. He has also led study abroad trips to Cuba, enabling students to directly experience the concepts that they are learning.
