My name is Elianna Albert, and I am a rising sophomore at Towson University. I love exploring new countries and cultures, hence my International Studies and Psych major. Yet, as we all are aware, COVID has restricted several foreign travel opportunities usually offered at TU. This left me with one option for finding a different geographical location to study in, TU’s domestic study away program.
In the spring 2021 semester, I applied for the National Student Exchange (NSE). The NSE allows TU students to spend a semester or year studying away at another member university in the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands. I decided my study away experience should transplant me somewhere with a different culture from urban Baltimore, possess a rigorous educational program, sponsor various outdoor activities, and retain a friendly student-body.
I chose South Dakota. Yes, South Dakota. A beautiful state school equipped with a welcoming staff; I am attending the University of South Dakota (not to be confused with South Dakota University). As the Fall 2021 semester commences, I am excited to post updates and photos that feature everything that USD has to offer.
