edTPA┬« is a national performance-based assessment for beginning teachers. It is intended to assess candidates’ classroom readiness as well as to support their development as educators.

As of Spring 2020, all Towson University teacher interns will complete edTPA as a graduation requirement. In coming years, teacher candidates will need to successfully complete edTPA to become a certified teacher in Maryland.
