OTS staffers recently volunteered their time at a Habitat for Humanity (HFH) build. This was the third year of working with HFH, and this year’s site was in Havre de Grace, Maryland. There were so many that wanted to volunteer, OTS had two crews working on two different days, performing different stages of work, including building walls, putting up drywall, caulking, framing out a sidewalk, and mixing and pouring concrete.
Most importantly, the experience allows staff to give back to the community by creating affordable housing opportunities, but it also builds relationships among co-workers. OTS has around 120 employees, which makes it challenging to know everyone. Participants walk away from these volunteer days with new friendships, and TU pride!
