The Human Resources Intern contributes to various established projects within the HR function supporting corporate initiatives while gaining valuable, hands-on work experience. This internship is an opportunity to expand classroom knowledge and grow in the Human Resources discipline. The Human Resources Intern must possess strong initiative and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining discretion and confidentiality. The internship requires a commitment of working 15-20 hours per week to ensure adequate timing for learning and accomplishment of assignments.
Qualifications and Essential Skills
- Working towards BS in Human Resources Management or Business with a concentration in HR, or related field\
- GPA above 3.0 is required, above 3.5 preferred
- Completed a minimum one year of coursework towards major (excludes general education requirement coursework), with the ability to transfer concepts learned in the classroom to results in the internship
- Student member of SHRM or CHRA a plus
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with individuals of all levels within the organization and external vendor partners
- Able to professionally handle confidential and highly sensitive information with discretion
- Strong work-ethic, ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines
Required Technical Experience
- Experience using various forms of social media preferred; experience communicating a social media marketing campaign or branding initiative considered a plus
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Understanding of HRIS and/or payroll systems preferred
- Experience using MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
