Overview:
This internship is for a motivated, undergraduate level student interested in a career in Human Resources (HR), Compensation or a related discipline and an interest in the health insurance industry. There will be particular emphasis on statistical analysis in this role.
This internship offers the opportunity to work with a variety of internal clients and exposure to senior level leadership as well as experience with Compensation projects. This is a part-time position in the Human Resources Department that reports to the Manager of Compensation. Work hours will be approximately up to 20 hours per week during the school semester and up to 40 hours during the summer.
Responsibilities:
Principle responsibilities will include participation on projects and day to day tasks such as the Salary Survey Submittals, Administrative Processes, Annual Job Evaluation Process, CAD, and Incentive. Role on these projects will include, but may not be limited to:
- Best practices research
- Data analysis, including statistical analysis
- Attending and contributing to meetings and department discussions
- Administrative Tasks
Required:
- Must be a student enrolled in an accredited college or university at the undergraduate level with concentration in Math, Business or direct related skills
- GPA of 3.25 or above
- Experience with MS Office applications (particularly Excel) and on-line, internet/intranet tools and search engines
- Strong analytical and information organization skills
- Strong statistical background
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to work independently to accomplish assigned tasks as well as in a team environment

An interest in health care industry

The associate is primarily seated while performing the duties of the position. Occasional walking or standing is required. The hands are regularly used to write, type, key and handle or feel small controls and objects. The associate must frequently talk and hear. Weights up to 25 pounds are occasionally lifted.
