1st Annual Marketing Intelligence Competition

Hey Towson Students! Interested in Digital Marketing? Sign up by October 5th for the first ever Marketing Intelligence Competition hosted by the College of Business and Economics Marketing Department.

 

CASE INFORMATION

Teams will be briefed by the client on Oct 6th, then work to develop a digital marketing strategy. The case is sent electronically to each competing team 30 days prior to the competition date. When appropriate, the track may host a discussion with the case provider to provide more details and context to the materials.

The deadline for each team to turn in their completed case analysis (PowerPoint slides or Prezi link) is November 17 by 11:59 PM via email to Tommy Wirtz at twirtz1@students.towson.edu.

Teams can get coaching from faculty or contact the client directly to get information.

 

COMPETITION FORMAT

1. Each team is expected to show up in their respective presentation room ON TIME.

2. All teams will assemble at 8:30 A.M. in Stephens Hall ST310 for the kick-off and last minute instructions and to receive their presentation time. Light refreshments will be available in ST310 throughout the morning.

3. The case presentations are scheduled to start with the first team presenting at 9:00 A.M. and end with the last team presenting at 11:30 A.M.

4. The following items are provided by the College of Business and Economics:
a. Computer, projector, clicker, whiteboard, markers
b. Papers and pens if necessary

5. Presentations will be displayed on computers that operate on the Windows platform.

6. Teams will present to a panel of professional judges and faculty, and the panel will vote on the teams to decide a winner. The winner will be announced and teams will be rewarded during a luncheon on November 18th.

 

PRESENTATION GUIDELINES
1. Presentations are limited to no more than 15 minutes, followed by 10 minutes Q&A and feedback from the judges.

2. The host of the presentation room will keep track of the time.

3. A team of 3-5 industry professionals will judge each track.

4. Teams are randomly assigned presentation slots (you will be notified of your time slot at the kick-off meeting in ST310).

5. Presentations will be judged on quality of presentation material, oral presentation skills, professionalism, teamwork, understanding of topic, identification of key internal & external material, analysis of pertinent facts, critical thinking skills, development of alternative solutions, appropriateness and creativity (think outside the box) of recommendations.

6. All presenters must be dressed in business professional attire.

 

AWARDS
A professional gift item for each member of the winning team (one winning team per track).

Track winners team photo will be displayed in Stephens Hall.

Winning team in each track will represent Towson in the spring regional competition.

Certificate of recognition for all participants.

 

Teams must have 3 – 5 students. If you’re interested in signing up, email Philippe Duverger at pdurverger@towson.edu no later than October 5 at 12 pm.
