The SACS Office acts as the central agent for CBE students seeking academic and career advising. The SACS Advisors help guide Pre-Accounting, Pre-Business Administration, and Pre-Business System Process students through their academic decision-making and planning. They help students realize their maximum educational potential through communication in one-on-one advising sessions as well as via e-mail and phone.

How can academic advisors help?

  • Advisors can discuss and explain the academic requirements for CBE programs
  • Advisors can interpret and develop a degree plan program, timing and potential graduation dates
  • Advisors can help address general questions and offer advice on degree/minor options
  • Advisors can help interpret Towson and CBE academic policies and procedures

A resume is a marketing tool to advertise and highlights education, skills, qualifications, and experiences.

Steps in building a resume:

  • Identify your skills, abilities, and interests
  • Take Strength Quest test
  • After discovering about yourself, start brainstorming what you have learn
  • Search career center on Towson search engine
  • Schedule an appointment with the career center

Cover letters introduce a story and create a first impression for employers. They link to the resume for a specific position, showcase knowledge of the organization and highlight related skills. It is important to understand the organization’s expectations, values, and guidelines for the job you are applying for. Understanding the atmosphere of an organization can give an insight into what the representation of the interview.

Start by researching the organization, considering what interests you and what you have to offer.

  • Prepare to meet prospective employers
