What Career Direction is Right For You?

In careers today, there are two categories people fall under: the first is the people who work for their passion; the second is the people who work to earn money. So, which category do you want to fall under?

Julie Mayfield, from U.S. News, has two pieces of advice for you:

  1. If you have a passion for something, follow it. Life is too short to pass up an opportunity to work a job that you love.
  2. If you don’t have a passion, major in something practical. Think about what you want in life, and you may develop a passion later in life – so don’t worry.

It’s easier said than done, right? Yes, I know life is not that easy, but at the same time, life is short, so try to be happy with your job. If you are happy to just earn money, then find jobs with high salaries. If you need to feel passionate about the work you do, then go find your interests and find the jobs that will allow you to feel you are contributing to yourself as well as the job. Whatever path you decide, pick it well and do it well.
