The Department of the Army Pathways Internship Program is designed to provide students currently enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work and get paid while exploring federal careers through a job with the Department of the Army.   Full Time and Part Time Schedules may be available to accommodate course schedule.

NOTE: Pathways Intern positions are exempt from the Government wide hiring freeze, this position can be filled without additional approvals, waivers, or exemptions. 

About the Position:

CECOM is The Critical Link that ensures the global readiness of the complex, networked C4ISR systems and capabilities that provide our joint forces with the advanced information and technology they need to communicate on today’s battlefield. CECOM adapts, strengthens and sustains the critical C4ISR systems that joint warfighters rely on – allowing them to operate, fight and win anywhere, against any foe, at any moment.

Position(s) will be filled under the Department of the Army Pathways Intern Program. Click here for more information on Pathways program participation.  The Department of the Army Pathways Interns may be converted to a permanent position within 120 days of successful completion of the program.

The department of Army Pathways Internship Program is designed to provide students currently enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work and get paid while exploring federal careers through a job with the Department of Army.

This position MAY lead to a career in the federal government’s Administrative and Support field, such as a Program or Management Analyst or Logistics Management Specialist.

Full Potential Level Following a Conversion: GS-11 or GS-12 grade level, based on the directorate you are placed in within the organization.

Who May Apply:

Students who are eligible for participation in the Department of the Army Internship Program

Positions are open to current students pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate in an accredited high school, college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution.

Duties

 As an intern, within one of our many directorates located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, you will be assigned to a senior specialist or group of specialists. You will be assigned tasks designed to familiarize you with different aspects of the occupation, and receive on the job training. Tasks will vary depending on the senior specialist’s current workload, but may include the following:

  • Assist senior specialists and supervisor in conducting program functions.
  • Assist in planning and organizing actions necessary to accomplish short and long program goals.
  • Research legal and regulatory material to obtain factual information and/or interpretation for use by the supervisor or co-workers.
  • Attend meetings and conferences to observe the proceedings.
