In these various positions you will have exposure to our Infrastructure Innovation Center at Stanley Black & Decker and will work on a wide variety of tasks and projects with a cross functional team of professionals.
About the Infrastructure Innovation Center…
America’s infrastructure is failing at an alarming rate. 1 in 9 bridges are structurally deficient, 15,000+ miles of water pipes need replacing, 3100 miles of rail tracks need renewal and our fossil fuel driven power grid is constantly overstressed from natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina or man-made overloads such as rapid residential growth.
Riding the momentum of record growth to an $11B company, Stanley Black & Decker has formed the Infrastructure Innovation Team to seek out life changing solutions to these costly and damaging problems facing our infrastructure. This small team will have full autonomy to brainstorm, ideate, prototype and develop far reaching solutions beyond just power tools.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal team members to define project scope including; business specific needs, competitive set, key categories and market areas of interest
- Dive into new, unfamiliar fields and quickly absorb the fundamentals to contribute during brainstorming and other insight sessions
- Provide market insights to support the business needs in identifying new technologies, new industries and new trends for strategic growth.
- Run queries on own data and perform analysis to support decision making process
- Compile and deliver business intelligence reports to innovation team on a weekly basis
- Leverages Google Analytics reporting tools to analyze and report on key topics of interest
- Dive deep into consumer/customer understanding to uncover unmet needs \
- Establish credibility as market intelligence expert based on in-depth knowledge of the data
Our Requirements:
- Thrives in small, dynamic environments
- Experience using relevant software to “scrape” the internet and compile reports
- Can demonstrate independent thinking and is self-motivated
- Problem Solving, Decision Making and results oriented attitude
- Well-developed interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships within the group
- Diligent in seeking information on markets or technology and can remove barriers to access it
- Willing to cold call industry experts, customers, or target market users to vet opportunities
- Has a viewpoint of the bigger picture and can connect ideas to strategies
- Strong desire to be a team player
- Has at least a Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or business
- Master Courses in Marketing Intelligence preferred.
