Alyssa Cummings
Alyssa (she/her) is a Junior majoring in Psychology. After graduating, she plans on continuing research on intimate partner violence, parent-child relationships, and implicit reactions. She plans to pursue a PhD program in Social or Community Psychology. Her favorite part about psychology is the ability to understand the motivations behind people’s actions.
Samantha (she/her) is a Junior Psychology major with plans to pursue a combined master’s/PhD in Clinical Psychology. She loves research and data collection, and is passionate about exploring how the mind shapes our experiences and how that knowledge can be used to improve mental health. Through her academic work, she enjoys connecting scientific findings to real-world situations. Outside of class, Samantha also teaches yoga here at Towson, combining her interest in mindfulness with her commitment to helping others.
Mina Graham
Mina (she/her) is a Senior majoring in Psychology. After graduation, she plans on getting more research experience and wants to focus on gender affirming care, cultural competency, and well-being in LGBTQ+ populations. She eventually wants to get her PhD in Clinical Psychology. Her favorite part of psychology is learning how various social and genetic influences can uniquely impact one’s mental health.
Brigid Kane (she/her) is a second year graduate student in the Experimental Psychology Program. After graduating she would like to get a job doing psychology research. She loves social psychology, and specifically research about the effects of social media on people.
Kyle Langenfelder
Kyle (he/him) is a second year graduate student in the Experimental Psychology Program. After graduating, his plans are to continue research and potentially pursue a PhD in the future. He has also considered pursuing ministry as a Lutheran pastor. His favorite part about psychology is that it can apply/appeal to anyone because of the vast range of knowledge you gain from it. From research to clinical psychology, you can truly enhance your understanding of people and how to navigate the social world around you.
Milan Nassiri
Milan (she/her) is entering her Sophomore year. Her major is Psychology and her minor is Biology. Her plans after graduating is to attend medical school and work her way up to become a neuropsychiatrist. Her favorite part about psychology is the complexity revolving around behavior and the brain, and how it deeply affects our lives.
Khushi (she/her) is a third year Psychology major who plans to attend graduate school for Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Her favorite part about psychology is the diversity of the field and how there’s always new topics to explore.
Dr. Jared McGinley
Dr. McGinley is one of two faculty advisors for PSYC Insight. He hopes the newsletter will create an easier way for psychology students to encounter information relevant to their academic and professional development. His favorite psychologist is Fritz Perlsand his favorite quote from Perls is “We must learn to tolerate the truth, even if it wounds our pride.”
Dr. Geoff Munro
Dr. Munro is one of two faculty advisors for PSYC Insight. His goal for the newsletter is to see students work together in creative teams. His favorite psychologist is Claude Steele and his favorite psychology quote is “at the feast of ego, everyone leaves hungry.”
