Gemma Valeo
Gemma is a Senior majoring in Psychology. Her favorite part about working on PSYC Insight writing psyc-related pieces that are meaningful to her. Her favorite psychologist is Rollo May, who explains that “The opposite of courage in our society is not cowardice, its conformity.”
Gabby Yeldell
Gabby is a Junior majoring in Psychology with a minor in Biology. After graduating she plans on attending medical school and hopefully becoming a physician. Working on PSYC Insight allows her to spread psychology-related information and awareness to the broader TU community, while also becoming more involved in the Psychology department. Her favorite part of psychology is learning about human behavior which can allow her to better assist her future patients!
Alyssa Cummings
Alyssa is a Sophomore majoring in Psychology and minoring in Spanish. Her plans after graduation is to become a clinical psychology and later become a psychology professor. Her favorite part of psychology is research and its various methodologies!
Stephanie Duque
Stefy is a Junior majoring in Psychology. Her plans after graduation are to continue her educational journey by going to grad school. Her favorite part of psychology is learning more about why people think the way they do and getting to know people on a deeper level!
Mina Graham
Mina is a Junior Psychology major with minor in Deaf Studies. After graduation she plans on attending graduate school for clinical psychology and is considering a PhD in the same field. Her end goal is to be a practitioner! Her favorite part about psychology is getting to learn and hear about new perspective and different experiences!
Sydney Heuvel
Sydney is a Senior majoring in Psychology and minoring in Gerontology. After graduation she hopes to attend grad school. Although she’s not exactly sure which program, she wants to continue with her interest in neurodegenerative disorders and learn more about how these diseases affect the brain. She also hopes to find a job where she can further research things like Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Her favorite aspect of psychology is exploring the complexities of how the brain functions, including the unique roles each region of the brain plays and the intricate processes behind thought and behavior. She finds it fascinating that despite all we’ve learned, there’s still so much about the brain that remains a mystery!
Nia Marneris
Nia is a Senior Psychology major. After graduation she plans to attend graduate school to become a licensed clinician. Her favorite part about psychology is learning about how genetic and social influences impact individual development and interactions throughout life!
Collin Ralph
Collin is a Senior majoring in Psychology with a minor in Marketing. After graduation, he plans to gain experience in the Industrial/Organizational world of psychology before possibly returning to school for his master’s. His favorite part of psychology is research along with learning about the social impact on human behavior.
Dr. Jared McGinley
Dr. McGinley is one of two faculty advisors for PSYC Insight. He hopes the newsletter will create an easier way for psychology students to encounter information relevant to their academic and professional development. His favorite psychologist is Fritz Perlsand his favorite quote from Perls is “We must learn to tolerate the truth, even if it wounds our pride.”
Dr. Geoff Munro
Dr. Munro is one of two faculty advisors for PSYC Insight. His goal for the newsletter is to see students work together in creative teams. His favorite psychologist is Claude Steele and his favorite psychology quote is “at the feast of ego, everyone leaves hungry.”
