Mission

The overarching vision of the College of Education Office of Research & Evaluation (ORE) is to create a culture of discovery, excellence, and innovation by offering support to faculty through professional development, targeted interdisciplinary mentorship, and individualized coaching to increase the scope and impact of high-quality research and evaluation.

Guided by a vision that promotes active faculty engagement, the College of Education, Office for Research and Evaluation is further driven by the following mission that forms the core of what we do.

  • Enhance interdisciplinary research and evaluation opportunities for faculty and doctoral students
  • Develop innovative programs that keep COE at the forefront as a research and scholarly unit
  • Promote academic excellence, real-world problem solving, and knowledge creation and dissemination
  • Advance positive change through partnerships with non-profit, community, and academic institutions to improve the quality and value of education

The COE also includes several current initiatives that offer opportunities for faculty to discuss current areas of scholarly inquiry, disseminate information about their current research, and include undergraduate students, honors scholars, and graduate students through smaller research projects.

These initiatives and standing committees include, but are not limited to:

  • Faculty Research and Development Committee (FDRC)
  • Scholarship Professional Learning Community
  • The Undergraduate Research Professional Learning Community
  • College of Education sponsored Scholar Research Awards to fund undergraduate research.
