You can either use the links below, or simple hover over “Content Pages” on the main menu bar to get to them. It is recommended though, that you read How The Troubles Started first, as it gives context to much of what is discussed in these pages.
The overview page lists and gives a summary of the majority of combatant and associated political factions, as well as a few relevant civilian organizations. This is the best place to start before moving on to the faction specific pages, as not much time will be given to re-explaining all the specific groups in those pages, due to the time and space that would take up. There are a lot of acronyms as you will see, and this can make things confusing unfortunately. You can refer back to the overview page when in doubt.

This page catalogues in some more depth the various splits in the IRA during the conflict, the people they primarily targeted, as well as the problems in Irelands constitution of 1937 and what impact that had on the beginnings of the Troubles.
