In June 2024, It Takes Courage was awarded a Regional Emmy Award for the Instructional/ Informational Category at the 66th Capital Emmy Awards. Co-Director and Producer Joe Kraemer was in attendance to accept the award on behalf of the team. This award serves as the culmination of a long and rewarded creative process in making the film, which is now being used as a training and messaging resource by the Towson University Title IX office.
