A Tour of Museum Architecture

Museums around the world house items of historic and artistic importance. Through on-site exhibitions and online catalogs, visitors can explore these vast collections and learn more about the objects within its holdings. Curators, librarians, archivists, and various other museum staff work to preserve, maintain, digitize, and conserve these artifacts for future generations.

The art and objects on display may be recent or centuries old, but the works themselves are not the only things worth seeing. Many cultural institutions also feature a distinctive style that reflects the objects within through the museum’s architectural style. Whether modern or traditional, both the inside and outside of the museum can help set the stage for what lies within.
