Teacher and SLP Interns- Fingerprinting and Onboarding Requirements

  • All interns (e.g., full-time interns, part-time interns, teacher candidates in field experiences, SLP interns, etc.) must complete all three steps of the PGCPS Intern Onboarding Process. This process includes:
    • A commercial background check to be completed by Dec 13
    • Fingerprinting to be completed by Dec 13
    • Online trainings to be completed by Jan 10

School Psychology Practicum Students

  • PGCPS will email fingerprinting and onboarding requirements directly to practicum students in June or July.

What if I have been fingerprinted recently by PGCPS or another district in Maryland?

  1. If you were fingerprinted by PGCPS within the last 365 days, you will not need to be fingerprinted again.
  2. PGCPS does not accept fingerprint background checks from other districts. All interns with an internship in PGCPS must be fingerprinted by PGCPS.
