Important Reminders:

• All interns must complete compliance modules annually.  These modules are typically available on or after July 1.  The link included in the directions will be active in July. 
• Interns must apply online to MCPS prior to reporting to the fingerprint appointment.  By applying, college and university students are identifying their role as an intern.
• Interns must be prepared to complete the background clearance process prior to the start of the field experiences including pre-service week.  Interns are not approved to begin without verification that the background clearance process is completed. 
• Interns are eligible for MCPS accounts after they are cleared for the field experience. Requests for MCPS Accounts are made at the school level and approved by the principal of the school. Interns for related services are often approved by the specific office, i.e. speech, OT/PT, etc.

What if I have been fingerprinted recently by MCPS or another district in Maryland?

MCPS does not accept fingerprint background checks from other districts. All interns with an internship in MCPS must be fingerprinted by MCPS.
