  • In this video by Colorin Colorado, ELL middle school teacher Amber Prentice describes strategies that teachers can use to create a welcoming classroom environment for ELLs.

3. “Carol Dweck – A Study on Praise and Mindsets”

  • For over a decade Carol Dweck and her team studied the effects of praise on students. This study involved a series of experiments on over 400 5th graders from all over the country. It talks about how a subtle difference in the way students are praised has an impact on the students and their mindsets.
