Current Student’s Accomplishments

Alexis Guethler (doctoral student) presented at the National Council for Workforce Education 2020 conference on October 8, 2020.

Magdalena Fitzsimmons (doctoral student) presented at the National Association for Gifted Children’s 67th Conference from November 11th – 18th. The session, entitled Conversations That Matter: Discussion Protocols That Engage and Challenge Gifted Students, will be available on-demand throughout the conference, which takes place in a virtual format this year. Valerie Hartman, student in the Instructional Technology doctoral program and instructional designer at Peabody Institute, was recently recognized for her contributions in response to the emergency transition to remote instruction due to the pandemic. Below is a link to the article covering Valerie’s team’s response to COVID.

Valarie was also part of the team that was awarded the Delta Grant for digital innovations in teaching and learning. Led by a medical illustrator, the project will produce several animated instructional videos that focus on universal design for learning in higher education. In addition, the research focuses on audio narration for people with low-vision and other levels of ability.
