Dr. Dardis received her PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2015 from Ohio University in Athens, OH. She completed her one-year clinical internship at the VA Boston Internship Training Program, in affiliation with Harvard Medical School and the Boston University School of Medicine. Her primary clinical experiences were within the Women’s Stress Disorders Treatment Team and on the Substance Use Clinics (residential and outpatient). In these roles, she obtained training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD (achieved “Provider” status), provided individual and group Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and received training and clinical experience with the Seeking Safety protocol (a dual-diagnosis treatment for PTSD and Substance Use Disorders), as well as Relapse Prevention (a Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment for Substance Use Disorders).
After this experience, she was selected for a two-year postdoctoral research fellowship in Women’s Health at the National Center for PTSD, Women’s Health Sciences Division, within the VA Boston Healthcare System, in affiliation with the Boston University School of Medicine. In this role, Dr. Dardis continued her work treating Women Veterans, and she received advanced training in the assessment and treatment of PTSD and other trauma-related disorders, as well as experience with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Since Fall 2017, Dr. Dardis has been a professor at Towson University, serving as Assistant Professor until 2023 and Associate Professor (with tenure) since 2023. At TU, she teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in the Clinical topic area and oversees students who engage in research on IPV and trauma in the Laboratory for Interpersonal Violence and Traumatic Stress Studies. Dr. Dardis is a licensed clinical psychologist in Maryland.
