I received my PhD at Michigan State University, working with Effie Kalfagianni in the geometry & topology group. Afterwards, I held posts as Visiting Assistant Professor at Duke University and as a Post-doctoral Fellow at Université du Québec in Montréal before arriving at Towson University in 2016.
I am the 2017-2020 Fisher Endowed Chair in Mathematical & Computational Sciences, and I was in the MAA Project NExT 2017 cohort — the Beautiful Blues.
Research interests
- I am interested in geometric topology, and low-dimensional topology in particular.
- More specifically, I have studied questions about Legendrian knots & links as well as Knot Contact Homology.
- I am also interested in (and learning about) machine learning and intelligence.
- To view my publications, please see the link Publication List in the sidebar menu, or my Google Scholar profile.
See current Projects (coming soon) of myself and my students by following the link in the sidebar.
Teaching
The courses that I teach change from semester to semester. In Fall 2019, I will be teaching the courses below. The links will take you to a page with more information.
Math 273, Calculus I | Functions, limits, and continuity; differentiation of algebraic and trigonometric functions; mean value theorem; differentials; introduction to integration; applications. |
Math 267, Intro. to Abstract Math. | Sets, mappings, relations, logic, mathematical induction, properties of the integers, Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic, polynomials, and elementary analytic concepts. |
