Up next on our spotlights, we have Rome Godwin. Rome participated in a program in the UK in 2018 and is excited to continue to study literature and music. Take a look down below at Rome’s responses:
Where you studied and when:
“I studied at the University of Kent in Canterbury, England, in the spring of 2018!”
Your major and/or minor:
“I’m an English literature major with a minor in music industry!”
What you’re doing or plan to do after graduation:
“I’m hoping to attend a postgraduate program in the UK after I graduate, focusing on the intermediality between film and literature.”
Short reflection of your favorite memory from your time abroad:
“My favorite memories abroad are definitely the little things – pub trivia nights with my friends, pulling all-nighters in the library together and then going to McDonald’s in the mornings the second it opened, and dinner with cocktails at Wetherspoons.”
Your advice to current TU students who may be considering studying abroad in the future:
“I definitely recommend the TU exchange program to anyone considering going abroad. I also wish I’d had more time, so I suggest going for a full year if you can find enough classes to transfer! Be adventurous and if there’s something you want to see, learn to travel alone safely so that even if you’re on your own, you can explore new places and learn individually.”
We want to thank Rome for taking the time to share her experience. Our office has been enjoying spreading the love to our senior alumni. Check back for more spotlights! #TUProud #HowBigIsYourWorld
