Israel: Masada Mountain

 Masada Mountain in Israel

We hiked up the Masada mountain in Israel. This historical site is a location were King Herod had built a hide away fortress with four palaces on the top of the mountain. Once he died it became a place for the Jews to hide from the Romans. Once the Romans found this hiding place the people of Masada decided to commit suicide rather then to be captured by the Romans.
The mountain has an altitude of 350 meters. We hiked the ‘Snake Path’ that has over 700 steps along the two kilometer winding path. The average time for walking up the path is 1hr and 15 mins I however walked up in 55 minutes!
