Andrea Parrish, Assistant Professor, Johns Hopkins University

Dr. Andrea Parrish is the Director of Development and Learning Systems and an Assistant Research Scientist at the IDEALS Institute, Johns Hopkins University. Prior to joining the IDEALS Institute, Andrea was the Graduate Program Director and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Special Education at Towson University. She was a special educator and later a central office administrator, providing technical support in special education at the district-wide level, before her most recent work in higher education.

Andrea’s areas of expertise include foundations of special education and inclusion; technology integration; assistive technologies; Universal Design for Learning; and serving students with a range of disabilities, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder. Her research focuses on the translation of evidence-based practices for practitioners, effective technology integration, and innovative teaching practices to support diverse populations of learners. Andrea holds a B.S. in Special Education from Towson University, an M.Ed. in Special Education from Johns Hopkins University, a post-baccalaureate certificate in Educational Administration from Goucher College, and her Ed.D. in Instructional Technology from Towson University.

Bill Sadera, Professor, Towson University

Bill is a professor of instructional technology and the instructional technology doctoral program director at Towson University. Bill earned his MS and PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from Iowa State University; he earned a BS in secondary education from The City College of New York. Bill has been at Towson University for more than 15 years and has a wealth of experience in instructional technology. His is recognized for his research locally as well as internationally. Currently Bill’s research focuses on teaching and learning in the one-to-one classroom as well pre-service and in-service teacher technology preparation. Most recently Bill was asked to be the guest editor of a special issue of the Computers in the Schools journal focusing on research in the one-to-one classroom.

Scot McNary, Associate Professor, Towson University
