I am a professor in the Economics Department at Towson University and have been at the university since 1999.Tom Rhoads in the classroom

I teach Macroeconomic Principles, Honors Macroeconomic Principles, Environmental Economics, and Sports Economics.

I am an applied microeconomist and my research is primarily focused on the sports industry. I have published on topics ranging from college athletics, the PGA TOUR and minor league baseball to environmental decision making and health insurance availability for college students.

I also wrote a book–The Call up to the Majors: A Proximity-Based Approach to the Economics of Minor League Baseball–published by Springer and available at all the usual online retailers.
