Q: Do I need to use a specific lesson plan template?

Answer: edTPA does not require a specific lesson plan template, so you should use the template that your program normally requires you to use.

For general education content areas: As noted on page 12 of Making Good Choices, your lesson plan needs to include the relevant standards, learning objectives, assessments (formal and informal), materials list, and details about what you and the students will be doing.

For special education: As noted on page 15 of Making Good Choices in Special Education, your lesson plan needs to include a measurable objective, materials list, assessment tools and data collection procedures, and details about what you and the focus learner will be doing (including specific planned supports and accommodations/modifications).
