I’m an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Technology and Literacy, College of Education, Towson University (MD). I earned my Ed.D in Communication and Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. At Towson, I teach courses in instructional technology and qualitative research methods at the masters and doctoral levels. My research interests primarily focus on undergraduate technology practices, critical digital literacies, and connected learning. My work has been published in E-Learning and Digital MediaEducational Action Research, the British Journal of Educational Technology, Digital Culture & Education, the Journal of Language and Literacy Education, Innovate, and Educational Technology: The Magazine for Managers of Change in Education. I currently serve as the Past Chair for the Instructional Technology SIG of the American Educational Research Association, and am Associate Editor of the International Journal of Information and Learning Technology.
