Our Policies

Due to the high volume of students the Public Communication Center mentors, we have instituted several policies beginning in the Spring of 2019.

The 3 Strike Policy

  • After a student has missed* 3 appointments at the PCC, the student will be unable to make more appointments for the semester. The student will need to contact Valerie Leonberger, Consultant Supervisor, to have their account unlocked. Leonberger will evaluate on a case by case basis to decide whether the student will be allowed to make more appointments for the semester.

 

Canceling or Rescheduling Appointments– To prevent receiving a strike, students can cancel or reschedule their appointment beforehand hand in a few ways:

  1. The student can contact the PCC or their consultant by email before the appointment to cancel. The consultant email can be found on the scheduling software.
  2. The student can cancel or reschedule their appointment through the scheduling software.

 

Weather Policy- 

  • In the case that Towson University is closed, opens late, or closes early, PCC appointments will be canceled. The student will receive an email from the PCC verifying that their appointment has been canceled and will be encouraged to book another appointment. We are sorry for the inconvenience!


Missed*– a student has missed an appointment when they have not given the PCC notice that they will not be able to attend the appointment ahead of time.
