Engineers are working to resolve the issue with the web portal. However, we wanted to provide alternatives for accessing Virtual Workspace since this outage only affects the web portal.

The VW/Horizon client software does not use the web portal and is not affected by this outage. The client is named “VMware Horizon Client” and is installed on all faculty and staff computers and some labs. It can be located in the Start menu on Windows and the Applications folder on Mac. If you do not have this installed on your TU computer it can be installed via Software Center (Windows) or Self Service (Mac).

If you would like to install the Horizon client on your personal computer, it can be downloaded from this link: https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/info/slug/desktop_end_user_computing/vmware_horizon_clients/5_0

Once the client is installed, click “New Server” and enter vwclient.towson.edu when prompted for a connection. This will provide access to all VW resources and a better experience than the web portal.
