Virtual Tour

Map descriptions were written by various Honors students. The initials indicate who wrote each description. You can find out more about these students here

You can open this map in a new tab (click on the button in the upper right-hand corner of the map) and keep it open as you read more about Douglass House, things to do on and off campus, food on and off campus, and favorite hang out spots and study locations.

About the Virtual Tour

Welcome to the TU Honors College Virtual Tour, created by students, for students. Here, you’ll find a detailed map of the university and its surrounding areas, including bus routes, food options, and student hotspots. Click on the pin to read a short description of the area, written by an Honors student who’s been there. While looking at the map, you can select which layers to look at, choosing all of them at once or just select categories. To do so, click on the button in the upper left hand corner of the map.

Many of the spots on the map are off campus, but can be accessed by a TU-run bus route. All you need to ride these busses is your One Card, which also means that the busses are only accessible by TU students and staff. When traveling off campus, try to go with a friend, especially if it’s about to be dark outside. It’s more fun to travel in groups anyway. If you can’t bring someone with you, let someone know where you’re going, bring a charged phone, and always be aware of your surroundings. And don’t worry, there will probably be plenty of other TU students riding the bus and in the area anyway. By learning the bus system on campus, you can expand your surroundings, get needed groceries, vary your diet a bit, and save a lot of money you might’ve spent on Uber/Lyft rides!

There are on campus busses too! The Gold and Black Routes will take you on a loop around campus, saving you time and energy if you opt for the bus instead of a walk. You don’t need to swipe your card on these busses since they always stay on campus. Though they can get crowded during peak times and bad weather, these busses are really nice for days when you are feeling extra tired or, like me, a little lazy.

You’ll find these bus routes sort of drawn out on the map so that you can see how they line up with locations on and off campus. Stops are not always exactly as they appear on my map, and some stops are not marked due to Google Maps restrictions. Get more information on exact stops and additional stops by going to the Towson University Parking and Transportation webpage.

Want more information on off-campus bus routes? Click here. Track the busses here or using the TU TIGER RIDE app, found on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
