Terry Cooney came to Towson University as Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and professor of history in 2006, serving as CLA Dean until 2020. In 2011, he served as Acting Provost and Academic Vice President of the university. In 2014, he became the head of the Honors College as well, and he continues as Rector and member of the faculty. Professor Cooney graduated from Harvard College and completed his Ph.D. at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He joined the University of Puget Sound as a faculty member in 1976 and remained there for thirty years, serving as Department Chair in History, Associate Academic Dean, Academic Vice President and Dean of the university, and Acting President. His research exploring mid-twentieth century US history resulted in several articles and two books: The Rise of the New York Intellectuals, and Balancing Acts: American Thought and Culture in the 1930’s.

Alison Rios Millett McCartney is professor of political science in the Department of Political Science. A member of the Towson University faculty for over 20 years, she has served as director of the international studies program, chair of the Faculty Committee on Service-Learning, co-founder of the TU-Baltimore County Public Schools Model United Nations program, co-founder of the Undergraduate Research Club, and member of the Latinx Faculty Staff Association. Professor McCartney won the University of Maryland Regents Award for mentoring in 2009, the Maryland-D.C. Campus Compact Service-Learning Scholarship in 2012, the TU Outstanding Service-Learning Faculty Member Award in 2015, the BTU Partnership award and the Campus Compact Mid-Atlantic P20 Partnership Award in 2018, and the Distinguished Service award from the APSA Political Science Education section in 2020. Her publications include co-editing three books on civic engagement education – Teaching Civic Engagement Globally (2021), Teaching Civic Engagement Across the Disciplines (2017), and Teaching Civic Engagement: From Student to Active Citizen (2013) – and many other book chapters, articles, and webinars on civic engagement education, undergraduate education, and contemporary German foreign policy. Her teaching interests include undergraduate research, civic engagement, European politics, foreign policy, and international relations. She is a member of the American Political Science Association (APSA) and past president of the Political Science Education section of APSA.

Rhiannon Rio Napoli Clements is the Director of Co-Curricular Programs and Constituent Relationships for the Honors College. In this role, Rio plans and executes major events for college and advises the Honors student leaders and organizations. In addition, Rio works to strengthen connections with Honors alumni and parents in support of the Honors community. She also serves as an FYE advisor. Rio holds a bachelor’s degree from Stockton University and a Master of Arts from Rowan University. She previously held roles in programming and student union management at Rowan University, residence life and volunteerism at the York College of Pennsylvania, and public relations at Stockton University.

Abram Fox is the Honors College Coordinator at Towson University, where he oversees the Honors application and admissions processes, advises Honors sophomore students and also serves as an FYE advisor, manages assessment tracking procedures, and maintains the Honors website. He is also curator for the Lieberman Collection, sits on the board of directors for Towson University Hillel, and occasionally teaches an HONR 370 special topics course, Comics: Art and Visual Culture. Prior to joining TU, Fox worked at the University of Maryland, College Park as Honors Humanities Program Coordinator. He earned Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. degrees in art history and archaeology from the University of Maryland, College Park, as well as a B.A. degree in history from that institution.
